SECOND CHANCES
By Antje Hill

Life is a puzzle as we go on our way.
The pieces jut don’t fit it seems.
There’s too many pieces that don’t have a place.
We cry and we give up our dreams.

As years start to mount, we see more clearly.
There’s far more to life than first thought.
Those dreams way back when the going was tough
Remain through the battles we fought.

Could it be there’s still time to claim what was mine
from the beginning of my life on earth?
That desire deeply planted speaks softly inside me,
“I’m ready now, please give me birth.”

It’s in looking back, after life’s journey forward
We see the pieces were right all along.
With life’s lessons to guide me and dreams still beside me,
I’ll go forward as I write my song.
