Guard Your Thought Life
I've written in different areas of my website the importance of guarding our mind. We are what we think about most. This has been proven through the years. More recently there has been study after study on the mind and its function and capabilities. All studies are conclusive. Our thought life determines who we are. This is a sobering thought.

| Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life, says, "Your mind is a special gift from God. It can potentially store 100 trillion thoughts and there are a lot of people fighting for access to that mind of yours. Years ago I read a book on advertising by Jack Trout and Al Reece called Positioning: The Battle for Your Mind. The book opened my eyes to all the people fighting for our attention. The fact is people are intentionally planning, 24-hours a day, to get our attention. That’s why we have to be choosey. We have to control what – or who – we allow into our minds. What’s true of computers is true with humans – garbage in, garbage out."
An article from the Baptist Press says, "Divorce lawyers are noting increasing influence of pornography. In Great Britan, it's blamed for a 20% jump in sexual assaults perpetrated by kids as young as 11. In the United States, the adult film industry sees it as a $13 billion a year business--more money than mainstream Hollywood generates.
Stephen Baldwin, actor/author and also Alec Baldwin's brother, has written a book, The Unusual Suspect. It's a new book out just recently. It's a must read! In it he devotes a chapter to the discussion of sex and the average male's interpretation of it. An excerpt: " I've traveled around the world and I've seen forces at work in every culture in every country. You can see them most clearly in the prevailing attitude about men and sex, an attitude that permeates every culture. Most people believe that men engage in sexual activity outside of marriage simply because they can't help themselves. That's just how we are. We're animals. Once a man gets a scent of pheromones, hormones fire up, that natural sex drive kicks in, and the male of the species just can't help himself. People around the world believe that lie, not just because we hear it in the media, but because Satan keeps feeding this pack to us. More and more the same can now be said of women."
Our imagination can create a work of art or a horrible mess. When our thought life is negative or on questionable things, sooner or later we pay the consequences.
Look at the statistics below from the National Coalition For The Protection of Children and Families. Does one of the numbers represent you? Think about it long and hard and gaze into the future.
