ON BEING A WOMAN

   A Place In Time
By Antje Hill

There he stands, gray haired, handsome and smiling.
Is this our place in time?
A friend from times past, will he like me now?
I must say he looks so divine.

His eyes meet mine, they say so much.
Life has handed us our share of pain.
But I see in his eyes, there's new life to come.
We’ve had grief, but ahead is our gain.

There’s years of living and loving we share,
There’s  photos we share from the past.
We sit and talk for hours on end.
We ask, “How did time pass so fast?”

Then I call home to check with my son.
He questions me, “Where have you been?”
I laughingly say, “I’m sorry my son.
I promise I’ll be home by ten.”

As weeks go by, we fall deeply in love,
As our spouses look down from above.
There’s no better life we both agree,
Than being friends and deeply in love.

(Personal note:  Life is short.  Don’t let life slip by and miss the real thing.
Give of yourself.  You will be the winner.)
