A Change For The Better

Do you live with a guilty feeling from time to time, knowing you are not taking care of yourself or your family as you should? Does it stay in the back of your mind as you do a quick drive through at McDonald's or buy that dozen donuts that have the
flashing sign, "Fresh" all over them?
My husband, Richard, and I have gone through the years, doing the best we could, indulging at times in our favorites, but trying to drink plenty of water and read food labels to cut out trans fats and hydrogenated foods. (Hey, we got started late in life and we want it to last a long time!)
To make a long story short, we have read about nutrition for a long time now. We have discovered a wellspring of information as we have researched this matter, everything from lowering blood pressure, cholesterol, weight loss, reversing heart disease and slowing down aging. Everything we have read verifies the extreme importance of exercise. One book in particular has been filled with information we have devoured. The authors are Dr. Aileen Ludington, a board-certified physician, health educator and author and Hans Diehl, a heart researcher with a doctorate in Health Science and a Master's in Public Health Nutrition. The name of this book: Health Power, Health by Choice, Not Chance. Much of the information I will share on this page will come from these wonderful authors and the research they have found.
I suggest you invest time in your health. I encourage you to do it now. If you don't want to be dependent on others in your later years, do your part now. Much of what happens to us is because of choices we make on a daily basis. Choose health for yourself and your family. Your quality of life in years to come depends upon decisions you make today.
